Swing Like
a Chick
Golf without the gatekeeping. Fresh approach, real data, equipment that actually fits. This is women's golf in South Africa — the way it should be.
Why We're Here
Women's golf in South Africa has been underserved for too long. Less content, fewer fitting options, and a culture that still too often makes women feel like guests in their own sport. We're changing that.
Equipment That Fits
Custom fitting built for women — shaft weight, club length, grip size, head design. Not "light men's clubs." Proper women's equipment with real data behind it.
Your Numbers
TrackMan analysis for women's swing characteristics. Launch angle, spin rate, carry distance — your data, not averages built on male golf data.
Drills That Work
Physical capability-based training. Not "swing like a man but slower." Biomechanically appropriate drills for the female golf swing.
Community
Find other women playing golf in South Africa. From first-timers to low handicaps — everyone's welcome in this community.
Women's Golf Gear That Actually Works
Most women's clubs sold in South Africa are men's clubs with different colors and shorter lengths. That's not good enough. The equipment that works for women accounts for different swing speed profiles, different release patterns, and different physical requirements.
Shaft Flex for Women
Women's average swing speed is lower than men's average, but the flex labeling system wasn't designed around female swing characteristics. A "regular" flex in a women's shaft means something different from a "regular" flex in a men's shaft. Get the data before you buy.
Club Length & Weight
Most women need shorter clubs than standard — not just because of height, but because of the mechanics of how the arms work in the swing. Club length that's even 1/2" wrong affects contact quality consistently.
Loft & Launch
Higher lofts help women achieve better launch without adding swing speed. If your 7-iron is launching like a 9-iron used to, that's not a swing problem — that's a loft problem. TrackMan fitting confirms exactly what lofts work for your attack angle.
Graphite vs Steel
For most women, graphite shafts offer the best combination of lightweight feel and vibration absorption. Steel can work for higher swing speeds, but for players under 85mph 5-iron speed, graphite is almost always the better choice.
The Women's Golf Community in SA
South Africa's women's golf community is growing fast — ladies days, beginner programs, and societies that actually welcome new players. Finding your people makes the game more enjoyable and the improvement faster.
Ladies Days
Most SA golf clubs have dedicated ladies days — mid-week or weekend sessions specifically for women. They're designed for all levels, including complete beginners. The social pressure is lower and the coaching support is usually better than mixed society events.
Getting Started Programs
Several SA clubs and academies run beginner women's programs — typically 4–8 weeks, structured around learning the game and building confidence on the course. If you're starting from zero, these are the fastest path to playing your first full round.
Golf Societies
Women's golf societies cater to players who want competitive but non-intimidating golf. Events are typically played from the correct tees, with scoring formats that keep the fun high and the pressure manageable.
What Makes Women's Golf Different
The equipment and coaching industries were built around male physiology. The data that drives fitting recommendations — swing speed, attack angle, spin rates — is predominantly male data. Women's golf requires its own baseline.
We connect women to coaches, fitters, and resources that understand this. Not as a limitation — as a starting point for genuinely appropriate golf development.
"The best female golfers in the world don't play like men. Neither should you."
